AAA MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL RULES
All play will be subject to the official 2016 Little League rules, as applicable to each division, subject to the following local rules:
Games are played on a 46/60 field.
Games are 6 innings.
2 youth umpires – one behind the plate and one in the field.
The dropped third strike rule does not apply.
The infield fly rule does not apply.
Bunting is allowed (except slash bunting is prohibited).
Any pitcher who hits 3 batters in a game cannot continue to pitch in that game.
Players may steal 2nd or 3rd (or home as discussed below) on a pitched ball only.
There is no stealing on an overthrown or dropped ball (except for a pitched ball).
Players cannot leave the base before the ball crosses the plate.
Runners may advance only one base on a steal (players cannot advance again on an overthrow, for example).
Whenever a team is ahead by 7 or more runs, the team that is ahead is not permitted to steal.
There is no other limitation on the number of steals.
Each team is allowed 1 attempted steal of home per inning. (An unsuccessful attempt to steal home which results in an out counts as an attempted steal.)
Head-first sliding is not permitted under any circumstances except when returning to a base.
Players must slide into home on a steal.
Players must slide into any base if there is an attempted play.
Any player who slides head first into any base, fails to side into home on a steal, or fails to slide into a base if there is an attempted play, will be called out.
The 5-run rule applies except for the last inning.
After a team scores 5 runs in any inning except the last inning, the sides will switch.Any inning that starts after 90 minutes should be considered the last inning if the visiting team scores 5 runs; thus the 5 run rule will be waived.
A new inning cannot begin after 1:45 of playing time (playing time begins when the first pitch is thrown). This rule is in effect regardless of field availability after the game.
All games will stop after 2:15 of playing time regardless of score or progress. At 2:15 the game will be called and the score reverted to the last full inning./
